My hair can sometimes (ALWAYS!) be a mess so therefore I have been switching from one shampoo and conditioner to another. Recently I have tried three different kinds of shampoos and conditioners from Nexxus and I decided I should review these so then y'all have an idea of what each of these provides.
Now keep in mind that I have long, thick, curly/wavy kind of frizzy hair...it used to be damaged but now (after a few years of NO HEAT) it has a minimal amount of split ends.
Nexxus Hydra-Light Weightless Moisture:
I purchased this shampoo and conditioner because it just came out, I loved the new look and packaging and I personally liked the thought of "weightless moisture". The first thing I noticed is that this shampoo and conditioner (unlike the others) actually cleans your hair and your hair is "squeaky clean" (literally it squeaks when you rub), I am guessing this is part of the whole thing about it being "weightless" therefore it doesn't leave any residue on your hair. What worries me though about this is that it may actually be stripping the hairs and making them weaker. The shampoo has a very perfumy scent, and the conditioner had no scent at all (at least no pleasant scent). Once my hair was dry (air dried), I noticed that my hair was really light and soft, but it was extremely frizzy (frizzier than usual).
I definitely will not be repurchasing this product. I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't have frizzy hair and someone with extremely heavy hair who wants to give it more texture.
I would give this 3/5 stars.
Nexxus Frizz Defy Frizz Protection:
The idea of "Frizz Defy" caught my attention and it was a must, I had to purchase it and try it out and see if it truly could "defy" my frizz! Honestly, I must say it definitely did help my frizz and my hair was silky smooth. I LOVE the smell of this product. Out of all the product that I am reviewing in this post, the scent of this one was definitely my favourite! All in all this was an amazing product that did exactly what it was supposed to do, but I did find that it kind of dried out my ends. Obviously I don't have the healthiest hair, but I felt that this product dried out my ends the most. When I compared the ingredients in all of these products, I have noticed that the "Frizzy Defy" conditioner contain more alcohol than the other two conditioners. This could be one of the reasons for the dried out ends.
I probably will repurchase this sometime in the future when I am looking for some "Frizz Defying" and and nice smelling product.
I would give this 4/5 stars.
Nexxus Pro-Mend Split End Binding: (My personal FAVORITE)
Out of all of these products this is the product that I have been using the longest. I have had an on and off relationship with it for about five years! There was no good reason for why I would get "off" of it, except for the fact that I wanted to try something new, but in the end I always end up returning to the "Pro-mend" shampoo and conditioner. It smells great, it feels great, and it shows great results! While I was trying to replenish my damaged hair and get rid of all the split ends this is the product I used and it worked! I stopped using it once my split ends were gone and tried the other two products I mentioned, but in the end I know that once I am finished with the current bottles I have I will be definitely repurchasing and returning to the Pro-Mend because it just seems to be a miracle worker for me. I would recommend this to anyone and I give it 5/5 stars! :)
(I realize that the Pro-Mend Shampoo is missing...I accidentally threw it out)
Comments, requests and questions are welcome :)
